|DeSantis investigates drag show, Foreign-born population data, Whoopi in hot seat, and more…|

Today is December 28. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.
1 – DeSantis puts drag show event on notice for exposing kids to ‘sexualized acts’
The event, which was held at the Broward Center of the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, was part of a national tour for “A Drag Queen Christmas.”
The event, which was first reported by The Floridian, allegedly features sexually provocative content and expressions content, such as “t-ts in a box” and lewd dances.
Bryan Griffin, press secretary for DeSantis, published a statement about the incident.
“”The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is aware of multiple complaints about a sexually explicit performance marketed to children held in Fort Lauderdale on December 26th. The Department is actively investigating this matter, including video footage and photographs from the event. DPBR will, like in other cases, take action,” the statement read. “Exposing children to sexually explicit activity is a crime in Florida, and such action violates the Department’s licensing standards for operating a business and holding a liquor license.”
ANNETA G: If every state had a governor like Ron DeSantis, we could get this country back on the right track in no time!
2 – Census: Foreign-Born Population Increases Across All 50 States in 2022
While the foreign-born population grew nationwide, California, Florida, and Texas saw the highest gains. California, which lost overall residents this year, added nearly 128,000 immigrants to its population.
Florida, the fastest-growing state in the nation, added more than 125,600 immigrants to its population, while Texas added almost 119,000 immigrants this year.
The South, with 128.7 million residents, was the fastest-growing region in the nation this year, fueled by 868,000 Americans moving to the area from other states and the arrival of almost 415,000 immigrants.
As Breitbart News reported, the U.S. population hit 333.3 million residents this year. More than 80 percent of that population growth is due to the nation’s legal immigration levels, where more than a million foreign nationals are given green cards each year and another million arrive on temporary work visas to take American jobs.
The process known as “chain migration,” wherein newly naturalized citizens can sponsor an unlimited number of foreign relatives for green cards, drives more than 70 percent of the nation’s legal immigration every year.
ANNETA G: Looks like things are going just as Democrats planned.
3 – Whoopi Goldberg forced to apologize — again — for repeating Holocaust slur
A rep for the 67-year-old provided a statement to The Post on Tuesday, just days after a recent interview in which she reiterated the same Holocaust slur that got her suspended from “The View” last February.
“My best friend said, ‘Not for nothing is there no box on the census for the Jewish race. So that leads me to believe that we’re probably not a race,’” Goldberg had told the Sunday Times of London.
In her new statement, she attempted to clarify that she was simply referencing her past hurtful remarks, not “doubling down” on them.
(Below is a video of the first incident which landed Whoopi in hot water.)
ANNETA G: Do you ABC will fire her this time?
4 – House bans TikTok on government devices
House staffers are now barred from downloading TikTok onto House devices and must remove the app from any mobile devices onto which it is currently downloaded, according to a memo from House Chief Administrative Officer Catherine Szpindor.
The House now joins a growing number of government entities banning the Chinese-owned social media app from government devices. The Senate earlier in December approved a measure that would ban all federal employees from downloading or using the app on government devices.
Several states, including Texas, Georgia, Maryland, South Dakota, South Carolina and Nebraska, have also banned the app from government devices. The U.S. military has also banned its members from using the app on government devices.
ANNETA G: This app should have never been allowed on ANY government device, anywhere. Trump actually had the better idea – it should be banned all across America, period.
5 – Now Target will limit purchases of children’s fever medication like Tylenol to two bottles each – after CVS and Walgreens set restrictions amid ‘tripledemic’ striking US children
Online purchases of drugs such as Tylenol, Advil and Motrin are limited to just two per transaction on the retail giant’s website or in-store.
The chain now joins two pharmacy giants, CVS and Walgreens, in limiting the purchases of over-the-counter pediatric medication. At CVS, only two boxes of medication can be purchased at a time in-story and online. Walgreens has limited online purchased to six at a time.
These limits come amid a surge in demand for the medication caused by outbreaks of the flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) erupting across America – mainly striking children. Some online retailers tried to cash in by marking up the medication 30-fold in recent days.
ANNETA G: Highly disturbing for companies to be limiting children’s medicine.
