Today is November 5. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room. 1. Joe Biden takes on Elon Musk and Twitter’s new content moderation: ‘Spews lies all across the world’ “Elon Musk goes out and buys an outlet that sends — that spews lies all across the world,” Biden remarked. “There are no editors anymore in America. There are no editors.” The president seemed to suggest there was no longer any moderation on Twitter, a claim echoed by several others on the platform who are also critical of Musk. “How do we expect kids to be able to understand what is at stake? What is at stake? So there’s a lot going on, a lot going on. But we have an enormous opportunity, enormous opportunity,” Biden added. Ryan Lynch: Joe Biden and the democrats are just sad they won’t have Twitter in their corner anymore for future elections. The lefts only option is to discredit Elon Musk’s Twitter through lies and fabricated stories. 2. New York Democrats are bracing for stunning Election Day losses, and they already have a fall guy With crime dominating the headlines and the airwaves, multiple Democrats watching these races closely are pointing to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, accusing him of overhyping the issue and playing into right-wing narratives in ways that may have helped set the party up for disaster on Tuesday. “He was an essential validator in the city to make their attacks seem more legit and less partisan,” said one Democratic operative working on campaigns in New York, who asked not to be named so as not to compromise current clients. Ryan Lynch: New York’s brand is crime and its spiraling out of control. It won’t change under Democrat leadership. Red Wave coming to New York. 3. Indiana police arrest 20 suspects in child sex sting operation The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Franklin Police Department executed the operation between Tuesday and Thursday. In carrying out the operation, investigators posed as minors and agreed to meet the suspects at a specified location, where the suspects believed they would be participating in sexual activity with an underage child. Ryan Lynch: I don’t understand the decision to release half of these disgraces out on bond. But Im happy they are off the streets and I hope it remains that way for a long time. 4. Train crosses North Korea border into Russia after arms report, think tank says The 38 North project, which monitors North Korean developments, said it was the first time such a train movement had been observed on the route in several years, although Russia’s veterinary service reported on Wednesday that a train had crossed the border into North Korea carrying horses. “It is impossible to determine the purpose of the train from the imagery, but the crossing comes amid reports of arms sales from North Korea to Russia and a general expectation of the resumption of trade between the two countries,” 38 North said. Ryan Lynch: Not only is North Korea increasing their missile testing, now they could be supplying Russia with ammunition. We need leadership that will show strength and sadly our current leadership is lacking in that department. 5. Chinese Officials Signal No Change to ‘Zero-COVID’ Policy The officials said at a news conference that they would “unswervingly” stick to the policy, which seeks to stop cases from coming into the country and snuff out outbreaks as they occur. The announcement was not a surprise and doesn’t rule out the possibility that discussions are taking place behind closed doors. But there has been no official confirmation, and most analysts believe that any change will be gradual and major easing is unlikely until sometime next year. Ryan Lynch: Isn’t it funny how the country that is most responsible for covid is pushing a “zero-COVID” policy. It makes me think, is China really concerned for their citizens or is it about imposing control. It’s always about control and power for the Chinese government. |
