Today is May 15. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.
Texas sends migrants to Naval Observatory near VP Harris’ home, once again:

Fox News – A busload of migrants from Texas was unloaded at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, where Vice President Kamala Harris’s home is located at Number One Observatory Circle, according to reports.

An ABC local news station in Washington, D.C. tweeted videos of migrants getting off the bus and grabbing their belongings from the storage area underneath.
This is not the first time Texas Governor Greg Abbott has sent a bus full of immigrants from the U.S.-Mexico border to the vice president’s home.

A bus of migrants was dropped off outside of Harris’s home on Christmas in 2022. Migrants were also bused to the Naval Observatory in September and October. The governor began sending migrants from border cities to the nation’s capital in April 2022 to pressure the Biden administration to act on immigration enforcement and border security.

Denny’s Insight: Good. If we Americans have to bear the brunt of illegal immigration because of failed policies, then so too does the VP. But I’m sure her security detail will ensure she’s not disturbed…

2. Brittney Griner stands for national anthem ahead of first game post-detainment:

Washington Examiner – WNBA star Brittney Griner returned to the basketball court on Saturday for the first time since being detained in Russia.

Griner stood with her teammates during the national anthem that played prior to the game. She had developed a habit of kneeling during the anthem as a form of protest, though that was prior to her traumatizing incarceration in a Russian penal colony last year.

“Hearing the national anthem, it definitely hit different,” Griner told reporters after her first game back. “It’s like when you go for the Olympics, you’re sitting there, about to get gold put on your neck, the flags are going up and the anthem is playing, it just hits different. … Being here today … it means a lot.”

The Saturday game was Griner’s first one since Game 4 of the 2021 WNBA Finals. That was before she was arrested in Russia for alleged drug possession in February 2022. Griner signed a yearlong deal worth $165,100 to rejoin her team earlier this year, months after President Joe Biden approved high-profile prisoner swap with convicted Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout to get her back in December.

Denny’s Insight: Glad to see Griner found respect for our country. While I believe trading over an international arms dealer was one of the most illogical prisoner swaps ever conducted, at least Griner learned something from her experience of being detained in a country that doesn’t value freedom. Hopefully she doesn’t become forgetful…

3. Dave Chappelle Torches San Francisco While Performing There: ‘What The F*** Happened To This Place?’

Daily Wire – Comedian Dave Chappelle roasted San Francisco during a show late last week at the Masonic over the city’s rapid decline caused by electing woke local officials.

Chappelle’s remarks were revealed in a SFGate report from Dan Gentile, who says that he went to the show and witnessed Chappelle’s “barrage of transphobic dog whistles.”

The report claimed that Chappelle’s comedy had taken “a dark turn toward transphobia” in recent years after he “he identified as TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist), declared that gender is an unmalleable fact and insinuated that the struggle for LGBTQ and Black rights are at odds.”

Chappelle’s “disdain for present-day San Francisco” was “crystal clear,” the report said.

On the subject of the rampant homelessness in the city, Chappelle reportedly asked, “What the f*** happened to this place?”

The report whined that Chappelle mocked a situation in which a homeless person defecated in front of a restaurant he was eating at in the Bay Area earlier in the week, claiming that Chappelle “has said plenty of irresponsible and dangerous things.” The report complained that Chappelle had “insulated himself from criticism with a combination of incredible talent and incredible wealth” like Joe Rogan and Elon Musk.

Denny’s Insight: Where is Chapelle wrong? San Francisco has devolved into a hellhole of homelessness and drug abuse. I bet he won’t be returning to perform comedy there anytime soon.

4. Online Fund Reaches Nearly $2 Million to Aid Daniel Penny’s Legal Defense:

Breitbart – Nearly $2 million has been raised as of Monday morning for the legal defense of Daniel Penny via a dedicated online contribution site.

The funds will help the U.S. Marine veteran who faces a second-degree manslaughter charge in the chokehold death of Jordan Neely on the New York City subway.

A “GiveSendGo” page titled “Daniel Penny’s Legal Defense Fund” showed the total stood at $1,921,048 and climbing.

According to the page, it was created by the law firm Raiser & Kenniff, P.C., and the monies are to cover legal fees “from any criminal charges filed and any future civil lawsuits that may arise, as well as expenses related to his defense.”

Denny’s Insight: Penny is going to need all the help he can get in ultra-liberal New York. I’m glad to see the fundraising is hitting milestones, but I don’t trust Alvin Bragg or the New York justice system. It’s why the legal funds are so important. And send your prayers people, Penny will need both to get through this. Here is the page to donate.

5. Afghan on terror watch list reportedly arrested near San Diego border:

Fox 5 San Diego – An Afghan national on the terror watchlist was arrested at the U.S.-Mexico border near San Diego, according to reports.

In a statement released Sunday afternoon, San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond confirmed the arrest, saying his office heard of the incident on Wednesday.

While details on the arrest are few, he said that the apprehension took place after the individual attempted to cross the border alongside a group of migrants near Otay Mesa and appeared to have happened prior to the expiration of Title 42.

“This should serve as a stark reminder to President Biden and the Federal Government on the critical need for maintaining a strong border,” Desmond said of the reported arrest.

The identity of the suspected terrorist, what they are wanted for and the circumstances that led to their arrest are not known at this time. It is also not known how they got to the San Diego border.

Denny’s Insight: DML has said forever terrorists would use the border to infiltrate the country. I want to hear all of your thoughts though… if you, the reader, were president, how would you fix and amend the border situation? Can it be fixed at this point, or are we that far gone? Or do we really need to get rid of certain politicians who are facilitating this crisis? I’d love to hear your input, so sound off in the comments below!
