Today is April 17. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1. Chicago mayor-elect condemns ‘Teen Takeover’ chaos, but says it’s ‘not constructive to demonize youth’
FoxNewsChicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson warned against vilifying youth while condemning a chaotic “Teen Takeover” of the Loop over the weekend, which saw hundreds of young people descend on the downtown area for two nights in a row.

Two teenage males, ages 16 and 17, were shot while standing in a crowd during the mayhem on Saturday night, as hundreds of young people smashed cars, blocked traffic, and fought in the streets. Both victims were transported to a hospital and listed in fair condition, according to Fox 32 Chicago.

“In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend. It is unacceptable and has no place in our city. However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities,” Johnson, a progressive who defeated moderate Democrat Paul Vallas earlier this month, said in a statement on Sunday.

Ryan Lynch: Our society is going down the drain in these cities. Only time will tell who is worst at their job, Lightfoot or Johnson.

2. Mom of YouTube star Piper Rockelle, 15, is sued for $22m by 11 kids from her daughter’s ‘squad’ who claim she encouraged them to have oral sex, bragged she makes kiddie porn and mailed her daughter’s underwear to a man who liked to sniff it
DailymailThe mother of YouTube star Piper Rockelle, 15, is facing allegations that she emotionally and physically abused children, including touching their buttocks and even mailing her daughter’s underwear to a male fan to ‘sniff it.’

In a complaint filed in January 2022, 11 teens from the ‘Piper Squad’ say that Tiffany Smith, 41, would inflict distress and urge the minors to try oral sex and wear revealing clothes to accentuate ‘bulges’ in videos posted online.

Smith, who allegedly bragged that she ‘makes kiddie porn,’ encouraged the minors to be ‘sexy’ and subjected them to ‘harassment, molestation, and abuse,’ according to the complaint.

Ryan Lynch: Again, society is going down the drain. What was this mother thinking? We need better parenting. This mom should be made an example of, I believe. This is the future of our country, and we have parents out there actively degrading our youth.

3. Elon Musk’s SpaceX set for debut flight of Starship rocket system to space
ReutersBOCA CHICA, Texas, April 17 (Reuters) – Elon Musk’s SpaceX made final preparations early on Monday to launch its powerful new Starship rocket system to space for the first time, on a brief but highly anticipated uncrewed test flight from the Gulf Coast of Texas.

The two-stage rocketship, standing taller than the Statue of Liberty at 394 feet (120 m) high, was due for blastoff from the SpaceX facility at Boca Chica, Texas, during a two-hour launch window that opens at 8 a.m. EDT (1200 GMT).

The test mission, whether or not its objectives are entirely met, represents a key milestone in SpaceX’s ambition of sending humans back to the moon and ultimately to Mars – also the central goal of a renewed NASA spaceflight program intended to integrate the Starship.

Ryan Lynch: If someone is going to get mankind to Mars, it’s Elon.

4. Budweiser releases new pro-America ad with iconic mascot in wake of Anheuser-Busch Mulvaney controversy
NewYorkPostBudweiser has released a new patriotic advertisement as its parent company struggles with controversy over its endorsement partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

The advertisement, which was released on social media Friday, features one of Budweiser’s famous Clydesdale horses traversing the country from New York City to the Grand Canyon, passing by scenes in the American heartland as a narrator delivers a patriotic message.

“This is a story bigger than beer,” the ad’s narrator says in the ad. “This is the story of the American spirit.”

Ryan Lynch: Did this ad help? Let us know in the comments. It certainly didn’t help me.

5.Orthopedic surgeon sounds off on COVID vaccine after developing career-ending condition: I’ve been ‘abandoned’
FoxNewsOne orthopedic surgeon had his career ripped away from him by developing a career-ending condition just seven days after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

During an appearance on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Dr. Joel Wallskog shared the chilling details of how he contracted Transverse Myelitis, going from a “completely healthy 50-year-old” to a crippled, unemployed orthopedic surgeon, in a matter of a week.

“I was a completely healthy 50-year-old person with really no medical problems until about seven days after my first – or I should say one and only Moderna shot – that I received from December 30th of 2020. So, I was completely otherwise healthy until seven days after the shot,” Dr. Wallskog shared with co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy.

Ryan Lynch: The biggest scandal in human history.
