Russia mocks, Biden cripples ICE, MSNBC’s racist rant, and more…
By Team DML
Today is February 15 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion.
1 – Russia pulls some troops back from Ukraine border, slams invasion reports
New York Post reports: Russia said Tuesday it is pulling back some of its troops from Ukraine’s borders as it slammed reports of an invasion as “ostentatious hysteria” by the West.
“We’ve always said the troops will return to their bases after the exercises are over. This is the case this time as well,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, according to Reuters.
Peskov also accused the US of fueling the crisis by warning repeatedly of an invasion — to the point where Peskov said President Vladimir Putin had joked about it.
“He asks (us) to find out if the exact time, to the hour, of the start of the war has been published. It’s impossible to be understanding of this manic information madness,” he said.
DML: Hillary Clinton once claimed Trump would be a “puppet” for Putin. Nope, that’s what Joe Biden is. And Putin is now laughing at us!
2 – Biden to Crack Down on Arrests of Illegal Aliens in American Communities
Breitbart reports: President Joe Biden’s top Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials are set to issue a new memo that is likely to further cripple Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents’ ability to arrest illegal aliens.
A class-action lawsuit, initially brought by a number of open borders groups, demanded recourse for illegal aliens who were arrested by ICE agents as part of “collateral arrests” in traffic stops and often without a judicial warrant.
As a result, a settlement was approved this month by the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois that will hamper ICE agents’ ability to arrest illegal aliens, particularly in the Midwest.
ICE officials will also be required to document the legal basis for each traffic stop arrest of an illegal alien and agents will have to undergo new training measures to comply with the policies.
Across Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas, and Kentucky, the settlement allows illegal aliens who were arrested by ICE agents via a traffic stop or without a warrant to seek recourse by being released from federal custody.
(The ICE Twitter account is now mostly filled with information on how they’re stopping the imports of fake merchandise, instead of apprehensions of illegal aliens.)
DML: Well, there you go… Biden has effectively abolished ICE.
3 – MSNBC’s Joy Reid slams the NFL for trying to ‘sanitize’ Blackness
Fox News reports: MSNBC’s Joy Reid heavily criticized the NFL for what she considers attempts to “sanitize Blackness” from the Super Bowl.
Monday’s “The ReidOut” opened with comments surrounding rapper Eminem choosing to kneel during his halftime performance in reference to player Colin Kaepernick. Although Reid and her panel of guests appreciated the “disruptive” behavior, they still insisted that the NFL is strangling forms of “Blackness.”
“The NFL has always tried to sanitize Blackness, especially during the Super Bowl, from the halftime performances to players taking a knee, and it especially does not want to dabble in the culture wars now and tick off the conservative fan base,” Reid said.
“Which explains why Kendrick Lamar’s line ‘and we hate the popo’ was noticeably scrubbed last night,” guest Jason Johnson fired back.
“Don’t think we didn’t notice,” Reid added.
And then it got even worse…
DML: What racist garbage!
4 – Anthony Weiner declines to say whether he’s a changed man
The Washington Examiner reports: A Fox News interview with Anthony Weiner and Curtis Sliwa, who are starting a radio show together, got tense when host Sean Hannity opened up by asking Weiner if he has changed after serving 21 months in federal prison as a convicted sex offender.
Weiner paused before saying, “Well, I think so.”
“I don’t think anyone can go through that kind of experience — and I think this is probably true of people who have been through other types of adversity — I don’t think you go through that type of experience and not emerge changed,” Weiner added.
Weiner pleaded guilty to sexting a minor in 2017. He served 18 months of a 21-month prison sentence for sending obscene material to a 15-year-old and was required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. He was released in May 2019.
DML: Seriously? Who thinks he’s changed?
5 – California teachers union leader under fire for maskless picture at Rams game
Fox News reports: A member of the California Teachers Association Board of Directors is under fire for the union’s continued support of school mask mandates despite being pictured at a recent Los Angeles Rams game without a mask.
“This California Teachers Association Board of Directors Member, Jesse Aguilar, isn’t interested in a ‘cautious’ approach for adults, only our kids. This is Jesse Aguilar. He went to NFC championship game with 70k strangers – he is #DoneWithCovid but his Union wants kids masked,” the LA Parent Union, a group advocating for an end to California’s school COVID-19 restrictions, posted on Twitter Monday.
Pictured in the tweet was CTA Board of Directors member Jesse Aguilar, who appeared to be celebrating the Rams NFC Championship win last month. A Facebook profile belonging to Aguilar features the same photo from Jan. 31.
Attached to the LA Parent Union post was a recent statement from the California Teacher’s Association, which included CTA President E. Toby Boyd applauding the state’s decision to keep COVID-19 restrictions such as masks in place for K-12 students.
DML: Hypocrisy at its finest. Speaking of masks, here’s one that’s REALLY bizarre:
