DML Morning Briefing January 1st

DML Morning Briefing January 1, 2022: A New Year

By  Dennis Michael Lynch

Today is January 1 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion.

1.New Year’s Eve crowd in NYC’s Times Square still parties despite coronavirus limits
Fox News – Happy New Year!2022 arrived in the U.S. as the clock struck midnight Saturday in the Eastern time zone.

The traditional New Year’s Eve party in Times Square in New York City was scaled back for a second year in a row Friday night because of the coronavirus – but optimism for the new year remained intact.

City officials and NYPD brass were limiting the gathering to 15,000 people for the annual midnight ball drop, a decades-long tradition that normally attracts far greater numbers.

DML: Because the COVID germs know the difference between 15,000 people and 15,001 people.  The level of stupid did not come to a halt on the strike of midnight.

2. CNN allows drinking and immature behavior unravel on LIVE TV
The video speaks for itself.

DML: The pathetic CNN is always a conduit of idiots, but despite the moronic behavior the Andy dude was spot on. DeBlasio is a dipshit.

3.New York says it will prioritize non-White people in distributing low supply of COVID-19 treatments
The state of New York said it will prioritize non-White people in the distribution of COVID-19 treatments in short supply.

New York’s Department of Health released a document detailing its plan to distribute the treatments, such as monoclonal antibody treatment and antiviral pills.

The plan includes a section on eligibility for the scarce antiviral pills that people must meet to receive the treatment, including a line stating a person needs to have “a medical condition or other factors that increase their risk for severe illness.”

One such “risk factor” is being a race or ethnicity that is not White due to “longstanding systemic health and social inequities”

“Non-white race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor, as  longstanding systemic health and social inequities have contributed to an increased risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19,” the memo reads.

DML: Cuomo and DeBlasio may be gone, but the replacement idiots are picking up where the other idiots left off.

4.Ron DeSantis accompanied wife to cancer treatment while critics claimed he was ‘missing’Florida
Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis accompanied his wife to her cancer treatment while critics were accusing the governor of taking a vacation as coronavirus cases spiked, Fox News has learned.

A DeSantis spokesperson said the governor accompanied wife Casey to cancer treatment Dec. 29, the day several left-wing critics accused the governor of “missing.”

DML:  I think I hate AOC more than Alec Baldwin.

5. Colleges heading back to distance learning
AP News – With COVID-19 cases surging just as students are about to return from winter break, dozens of U.S. colleges are moving classes online again for at least the first week or so of the semester — and some warn it could stretch longer if the wave of infection doesn’t subside soon.

Harvard is moving classes online for the first three weeks of the new year, with a return to campus scheduled for late January, “conditions permitting.” The University of Chicago is delaying the beginning of its new term and holding the first two weeks online. Some others are inviting students back to campus but starting classes online, including Michigan State University.

Many colleges hope that an extra week or two will get them past the peak of the nationwide spike driven by the highly contagious omicron variant. Still, the surge is casting uncertainty over a semester many had hoped would be the closest to normal since the start of the pandemic.

DML: So very stupid. COVID has proven to be the flu, with the vaccine doing nothing to stop it, and with people having it for a second time it’s the flu.  We are changing the world and destroying our greatness in the USA over the flu. I have been right all along… Covid is the flu. And like the flu, old people, folks with low immune systems, overweight folks, and people with preexisting illness are most likely to pay the deepest price while the rest of us motor through like we would the flu.
