Today is January 11 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch.
1 – Social media platform Parler goes dark after Amazon pulls the plug
Fox Business reports: Alternative social media platform Parler went down early Monday following Amazon Web Services’ decision to suspend Parler from its cloud hosting service after Wednesday’s U.S. Capitol riot.
CEO John Matze told “Sunday Morning Futures” that the site will try to “get back online as quickly as possible,” after writing on the platform that the site may be down for up to a week.
Amazon says the move was made for violating Amazon Web Services’ terms of services by failing to effectively deal with a steady increase in violent content, according to an email by an AWS Trust and Safety team to Parler, seen by Reuters.
Matze posted the following notice on his platform Sunday night, shortly before being taken off line by Amazon: “I wanted to send everyone on Parler an update. We will likely be down longer than expected. This is not due to software restrictions—we have our software and everyone’s data ready to go. Rather it’s that Amazon’s, Google’s and Apple’s statements to the press about dropping our access has caused most of our other vendors to drop their support for us as well. And most people with enough servers to host us have shut their doors to us. We will update everyone and update the press when we are back online. Parler is my final stand on the Internet. I won’t be making an account on any social. Parler is my home. See you all soon.”
Matze told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo Sunday morning that even their lawyers have abandoned them. Watch:

2 – Biden Has Ties To 5 Major Tech Companies
The Daily Caller reports: At least 14 people who President-elect Joe Biden has picked to serve either in his administration or to advise his transition have worked for the Big Tech firms that cracked down earlier this week on President Donald Trump and a social media site popular with conservatives.
Apple’s top lobbyist was a chief adviser to the Biden transition team. A former Facebook executive will serve as staff director in the Biden White House, and a former Twitter executive will serve as chief spokesperson for the National Security Council under Biden.
Current and former executives at those firms and two others, Google and Amazon, fill out other positions in the incoming Biden administration, or his transition team.
DML: Now we can talk about collusion!
3 – Major Companies Begin Suspending Donations To Republicans Involved In Biden Certification Challenge
The fallout continues over the violent riot at the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday, as a growing list of major corporations are now declaring they are suspending their financial donations to Republican lawmakers they have previously supported who challenged the certification of the Electoral College votes for Democrat Joe Biden.
Fox Business reports: Citigroup announced its decision to temporarily pause all federal PAC donations through the first quarter of 2021 in an internal memo to employees on Friday.
“We want you to be assured that we will not support candidates who do not respect the rule of law,” wrote Citigroup managing director and head of global government affairs, Candida Wolff. “We intend to pause our contributions during the quarter as the country goes through the Presidential transition and hopefully emerges from these events stronger and more united.”
Forbes shared the following list of companies withholding their contributions, or considering withholding their financial support:
- Marriott International
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Commerce Bancshares
- Bank of America
- Ford Motor Co.
- CVS Health Corp
- Exxon Mobile
DML: The censorship knows no end.
4 – Pelosi admits the real reason she is determined to IMPEACH President Trump
The Hill reports: Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in an interview to be broadcast Sunday night that she supports invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office before his term expires next week.
The House leader also told “60 Minutes” that there is “strong support” among the members of Congress to see Trump impeached and rendered unable to run for office again.
“There is a possibility that after all of this, there’s no punishment, no consequence, and he could run again for president,” Stahl countered.
“And that’s one of the motivations people have for advocating for impeachment,” the Speaker responded. “I like the 25th Amendment because it gets rid of him. He’s out of office. But there’s strong support in the Congress for impeaching the president a second time.”
Pelosi all declared that President Trump is “deranged, unhinged, and dangerous.”

5 – Antifa mob takes over streets of Manhattan, NY
A mob of Antifa members, all dressed in riot gear, took to the streets in Manhattan, New York on Sunday, after they heard a rumor that Trump supporters and the Proud Boys might show up.
“We are here to disrupt far-right activity in our city,” the group declared in a social media post announcing the event. As it turned out, the Trump supporters did not turn out at all.
The group was seen marching through the streets, beating drums and chanting, “Whose mother f—kin’ streets!” “Our mother f—kin’ streets!”
The mob also attacked a woman who was video taping them:
DML: Antifa can march through the streets – but Trump supporters can’t???!!!
6 – Colin Powell: ‘I can no longer call myself a fellow Republican’
The Hill reports: Former Secretary of State Colin Powell said that he no longer considers himself a Republican following the riot that broke out at the Capitol last week.
Asked by CNN’s Fareed Zakaria whether he believes “fellow Republicans” who have not criticized President Trump “encouraged, at least, this wildness to grow and grow,” Powell responded that “they did, and that’s why I can no longer call myself a Republican.”
“I’m not a fellow of anything right now. I’m just a citizen who has voted Republican, voted Democrat throughout my entire career, and right now I’m just watching my country and not concerned with parties,” Powell said.
“I do not know how he was able to attract all of these people. They should have known better, but they were so taken by their political standing and how none of them wanted to put themselves at political risk. They would not stand up and tell the truth or stand up and criticize him, or criticize others,” he continued.
DML: Good grief!
7 – New York Times’ Sunday Review turns heads with ‘Black Power is Here’ section headline after Georgia runoffs
Fox News reports: After Georgia Democrats took back both of the state’s Senate seats thanks in large part to Black voters, The New York Times’ Sunday Review section declared “Black Power Is Here” in large bold letters at the very top as columnist Charles M. Blow made his case for a “reverse” Great Migration.
Blow recently moved to Atlanta after living in New York City for 26 years and urged other Black people to do the same in a recent opinion column.
“In effect, Black people could colonize the states they would have controlled if they had not fled them,” Blow wrote. “In the first census after the Civil War, three Southern states — South Carolina, Mississippi and Louisiana — were majority Black.
“After centuries of waiting for white majorities to overturn white supremacy, it has fallen to Black people to do it themselves,” Blow continued. “I am unapologetically pro-Black, not because I believe in Black supremacy, which is as false and reckless a notion as white supremacy, but rather because I insist upon Black equity and equality.”
DML: This is RACIST!
